Wolf Lake Ranch (WLR) offers a one-of-a-kind getaway that makes it easy to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Located in western Michigan, the ranch is just north of Baldwin off Hwy M37, and within the beautiful Manistee National Forest.
Your Hosts Pete and Marlena Libby work hard to ensure you have a great time and make your stay comfortable. Between the trail rides, camp fires, and extra activities, there's always something going on for guests of every age!
The Ranch keeps about 50 horses, with horseback riding for beginners to advanced. If you've never been on a horse, no worries, there are new riders every week! We offer walk, trot, and canter rides twice daily on soft trails lead by experienced wranglers. Lessons include one-on-one instruction for beginners, or a short refresher for those who feel they need one before they hit the trails.
In addition to riding, available at your leisure is tennis, basketball, archery, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing on clear Wolf Lake. If you really want to relax, we have a hot tub for the adults. Organized activities include volleyball, soccer, softball, hay rides, dancing, casino night, a speed show, campfires and games.
Special events throughout the season include a breakfast ride, steak fry, and an extended ride to serene Lost Lake.
For the lil' buckaroos who aren't quite big enough for the trail yet, we have a pony that you're welcome to lead around the ranch, so the whole family will enjoy time in the saddle!
Offsite you can venture on your own for a round of golf, a canoe, kayak, or raft trip down the neighboring Pine River, antiquing, or try your luck at a casino, all of which are in reasonable distance from the ranch.
